By IfiokAbasi Okop and Victor Oton

Eastern Obolo witnessed a vibrant display of unity at the Council Secretariat as leaders, stakeholders, and residents gathered for the APC Homecoming, an event described as a long-awaited moment of reconciliation and political consolidation.

The Chairman of Eastern Obolo Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. Samuel Nteogwuijah, who led the charge, expressed deep gratitude to Governor Umo Eno for his foresight and inclusive leadership. He highlighted road projects, the modern primary school, and other executed projects as clear indicators that supporting the governor will continue to attract meaningful development to the area. He affirmed that the people of Eastern Obolo remain solidly behind him and will demonstrate complete loyalty during the next election cycle.

Hon. Mrs. Selina Ukpat, AKHA Member representing Ikot Abasi and Eastern Obolo, praised Governor Umo Eno’s unique leadership style in developing and uniting the people. She affirmed that the homecoming has galvanised renewed unity among the people and promised that Eastern Obolo will deliver full support to the APC.

Hon. Sir Ikann Againin, the APC Chapter Chairman, described the homecoming as a carnival-like celebration and a defining moment for the people. He praised the governor for uniting diverse interests through his wisdom and impactful ARISE Agenda. According to him, the grassroots overwhelmingly support Governor Eno and are committed to standing with him in 2027 and beyond.

Hon. Aboh Uduyok, State Organising Secretary of the APC and TETFund South South Representative, applauded the Governor’s ARISE Agenda and thanked him for uniting Akwa Ibom people under one political family. He assured him that Eastern Obolo stands firmly with him and is confident of his second-term victory.

Hon. Francis Charles Uduyok, former House of Representatives Member for the region, described the homecoming as a strategic effort to revalidate APC membership statewide. He stressed that the party is on course to take full control of the state because the governor leads with fairness and inclusivity. He reminded members that everyone has a stake in the party, irrespective of when they joined, and called for continued consolidation to strengthen the APC.

Hon. Jackson Akpan, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on EXCO Matters, said the event marked a long-awaited moment for the people. He stated that Eastern Obolo has always aligned with the state government and does not play opposition politics. He concluded by thanking the Governor in advance for his 2027 victory, which, according to him, Eastern Obolo has already pledged to support wholeheartedly.
