The Police in Akwa ibom state has announced the recovery of stolen items from criminals who are presently on the run.
The state police public relations officer Akwa ibom state DSP Timfon John who stated this in a press statement made available to journalists explained that
On August 7, 2025, at approximately 5:30AM, Operatives of the Command conducted a raid on an uncompleted building located along Plot 70, Unit ‘A’, Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo.
According to the statement “Upon the arrival of police vehicles, the suspects fled the scene through the back door, abandoning a significant amount of suspected stolen property. No arrests were made at the time” .
The ppro listed the recovered items include:
- Three split-unit air conditioners
- One Butterfly sewing machine
- Four and a half fathoms of wax materials
- Three door curtains
- Two Polo t-shirts
- One school bag
- Four new pairs of men’s native attire (up and down) and a pair of trousers
- One new black female gown
- Two white and orange jerseys
- One teddy bear
- Half a yard of plain material
She maintained that Police are actively working to identify and trace the owners of the recovered items.
She asked the public to come forward with any information that may assist in the investigation.
