Ahead of the commencement of Akwa Ibom Sports Festival, the unity torch has arrived Etinan Local Government Area.
On hand to receive the unity torch was the chairman, Hon Uko Umoh, his wife, Mrs. Emily Uko Umoh, the Paramount Ruler Edidem Aniefiok Monday Akpanobong, Leader of Legislative Council, Hon Ekerete Umoh, Comrade Israel Tommy, Councilors and Supervisors.
Receiving the unity torch, the Chairman thanked the governor, Pastor Umo Eno PhD, for the wonderful initiative which will promote grassroots sports in the state.
The Chairman hinted that Etinan team including the male football team have been in camp ahead of the competition saying, Etinan team is well prepared not just to participate but win laurels.
The leader of the Ministry of Sports’ delegation, Mrs Iniobong Udoh, thanked the chairman for a warm reception and assured the chairman that all necessary arrangements have been put in place for a successful sports festival.
The sports festival will start from 8th to 13th of September, 2025
