Actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has disclosed that she stepped away from acting after an anonymous benefactor started paying her a weekly salary of ₦1 million.
Speaking on the show Curiosity Made Me Ask, hosted by Bae U Barbie, she explained that her earnings from acting were often insufficient, with some film roles bringing in less than ₦1 million in total profit.
Nkechi said the consistent financial support made her reassess her efforts in low-paying projects, leading to a temporary pause in her acting career.
“An anonymous person placed me on a ₦1 million weekly salary because the money I made from acting wasn’t enough.
That’s why I decided to take a break. Sometimes I’d finish a movie and not even make ₦1 million from it,” she shared.
