Determined to ensure further reduction of youths in the Labour market and boosting a generation of entrepreneurs, the Chairman of the governing council of DAAKADA Skill Acquisition Center(DASAC) in Akwa ibom state Isantin Churchill Udoh has revealed plans to Partner with Akwa ibom state university to produce youths who are capable of creating values and becoming self sufficient and employers of labor
Isantin Udoh who made the remarks while speaking with Journalists moments after receiving his Doctorate (Honorary Causa) in Education and Innovation explained that the recognition and honor accorded him was a product of his vision and interpretation of the DASAC concept.
He however dedicated the award to God, former Governor Udom Emmanuel who brought the vision to fruition and incumbent governor Pastor Umo Eno who has ensured smooth and seamless running of the facility which is yearly churning out skilled youths in different craft.
He averred," The work of a leader is to pick his people from where he found them to where they are not expected to be not where they want to be. Akwa ibom state have been blessed with good leaders".
According to him, " The establishment of DASAC has brought great opportunity to our teeming youths in Akwa ibom state to chose and get the best certified training in different craft ranging from fashion, welding, Agriculture, Animal husbandry, fishing,poultry, carpentry, automobile engineering, generation of power from waste and many others. Presently over 300 youths are being trained by NDDC on CNG convention on vehicles at the facility."
Udoh While expressing gratitude on behalf of the compatriot Awardees, thanked the Institution for finding them worthy for the conferment of Honorary Doctorate Degrees in diverse fields at this combined 6th, 7th and 8th Convocation Ceremony.
He added, "We have listened in amazement to the accomplishments of this young institution within a period of just about 20 years of its existence. This surely is a great exhibition in intellect and all-around distinctions for which we are proud to be a part of; welll done AKSU".
"We wish to commit to this university and audience that we shall be a positive plus and not just statistics to the reputation and image of AKSU, as well as abide by the ideals and ethos of distinctive alumniship as justifiable ambassadors of this School."
He assured that the honorary Award recipients will lend financial and material support to the institution while also contribute to projects or other forms of endowments that will be worthwhile and respectable.
At the combined 6th, 7th & 8th Convocation Ceremony of Akwa Ibom State University, a total of 3,836 students graduated and 96 of them finished with First Class Honours.
