The Founder and chancellor of newly established southern Atlantic university Uyo Àkwa ibom state Pastor Bassey James has announced that the university is now on Jamb Portal and it’s 15 degree programs fully accredited by National university commissions (NUC).
In the same vein, he has described the tedious but seamless navigation of all necessary requirements for the smooth take of the university as miraculous and an act of God.
Speaking in a special thanksgiving service to God on the milestones achieved by the university since inception at Royal house of faith lekki Lagos which was attended by friends and we’ll wishers, Pastor James said
the gathering was to thank God for his blessings upon southern Atlantic university uyo.
According to him, “the national universities commission has approved the commencement of 2025,2026 academic Sessions and we are starting the admissions and lectures immediately, this October our first semester will start so we want our people to take advantage of this to enroll in the university , get the forms and move into our university and acquire sound education “.
He explained that the university is also planning massive thanksgiving and celebrations in uyo Akwa ibom state for the feat which is clearly God’s favor on him and his family.
He further highlighted, ” The mega thanksgiving will also an opportunity to say a big thank you to his Excellency pastor Umo Eno PhD, we want to appreciate him for uniting the people of Akwa ibom state and for doing wonderfully well and changing stories around our people
Speaking on the The theme: Undeserved, Pastor James narrated the story about David, Jephthah, Gideon and Joseph and how God can raised someone to the position of honour linking it to the grace that saw the emergence of the university,
“This is a miracle, I thank Mr President, the Education Minister, the NUC and my Governor for giving us the enabling environment to excell, we will key into the program to support the consolidation of quality education in the country.
He re-emphasize his determination to give out scholarship to very brilliant students as a way of giving back to the society stressing, “the scholarship program is so dear to my heart from my local government Mkpat enin to Uyo, Ikot ekpene, Oron and others, many students will be touched”
” I preached today’s message myself because I wanted people to hear from the horses mouth on how God can raised a nobody to the position of owning a university”.
According to him, the approved courses include; B.Sc. Accounting,
B.Sc. Business Administration,
B.Sc. Hospitality & Tourism Management, B.Sc. Criminology and Security Studies.
Others are; B.Sc. Political Science, B.Sc. Petroleum Science, B.Sc. International Relations/Diplomacy, B.Sc. Economics, B.Sc. Information/Communication Technology, B.Sc. Microbiology, B.Sc. Physics with Electronics, B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Software Engineering and B.Sc. Cyber Security
He added that the university was birthed with a vision to provide quality education rooted in discipline, innovation, and moral values, while equipping students with practical skills to compete on a global scale
He also announced that the university will be affordable to all Nigerians irrespective of the topnotch academics and conducive learning environment.
He highlighted that academic activities will commence in few weeks as registration is ongoing, “.we will lead with difference, our graduates will go with appropriate skills to become employers of labor, this is a landmark investment for the future”
The university is accessible to the world with the proximity to the airport and dual carriage way leading into the city
