The Executive Chairman of ONNA Local Government Area, Hon. Kufre Umoren, yesterday pledged his administration’s full support for voter registration during an unscheduled visit to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office along the Eketโ€“Ikot Abasi Road.

Hon. Umoren, who was received by the Resident Electoral Officer, Mrs. Miriam Yakubu, stressed the importance of deepening citizens’ participation in the democratic process. He promised to intensify efforts in sensitizing and mobilizing eligible voters in ONNA to register and obtain their voter cards.

He noted that broad participation in elections was vital to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy and ensuring effective representation at all levels of government.

In her response, Mrs. Yakubu commended the Chairman’s visit, describing it as a timely intervention that would boost public confidence.

The Chairman furthermore promised to engage with political stakeholders, civil society organizations, traditional rulers and youth leaders to collaborate in raising awareness on the significance of voter registration.
